As mentioned on the home page I was inspired by the documentary Join or Die, please check out the trailer below. Robert Putnam, a current professor at Harvard did research that made it evident that we need to do a greater job as a country to connect people, to meet in person, to talk amongst ourselves. There were not any specifics on how we can do this, and my personal pain and frustration living in Modesto made it very personal. I kept thinking about it, and my first thought was we need a place to meet for free in the city of Modesto. Putting the "free" in freedom of assembly. I remembered how the Centre Plaza is actually owned by the city of Modesto, and how there are multiple rooms in the underground level that are mostly going unused. What if we could just dedicate one room to allowing clubs to meet? I reached out to city government representatives, and the response was not good, that was a dead end. It occurred to me that maybe a grassroots effort to just connect people in a practical way with a websiute, build the demand, and then maybe a location could be established, the opposite of "Field of Dreams" if you build it they will come. After thinking about it more, and the reasons behind the Centre Plaza barriers, despire having clear benefit to bringing more people downtown, who will likely eat and stimulate the economy, what about other locations. Maybe the former Longs Drugs building on McHenry that has been vacant for years and is a complete eyesore. Which led to the idea of building an instition from scratch, as opposed to using an existing environment, bare needed was a big enough room with chairs, access to restrooms, drinking water, the bar was already pretty low.
We pay our taxes, the city of Modesto in 2024 had almost 1 billion dolarr budget. We can do better for our residents.

At first with the website I thought I would try and have one made open source, so any city could use it as a template, but after seeing how ai can quickly generate html, and using Google sites for free, it has become easy, the only cost is the domain, so like $15 to $20 a year, and my time updating it.
